Losing weight successfully isn't just about a good diet. It’s about having a good attitude, too. Boredom with food, boredom with meals, boredom with cooking, boredom with your lifestyle – these are all very common reasons why a diet can be destroyed. Even if you have been dieting successfully for a while, it never hurts to take stock of how you feel about your weight-loss programme so far.

Whether it’s taking the dog for a walk, going to see a film or visiting the zoo, the activity you choose should be enjoyable and something to look forward to.
